FAFSA

COMPLETING THE FAFSA

Kent State Paying for College flier

STEP 1: FSA ID

In order to sign off and complete your FAFSA, the student and a parent/guardian will each need their own FSA ID (pin number). You will need to go to fsaid.ed.gov to request your ID numbers. When giving an email address, be sure to use an email that is NOT YOUR FAIRLESS EMAIL.

STEP 2: FAFSA

FAFSA (fafsa.ed.gov) stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This form is used to determine the amount of money a family is expected to contribute to the price of attending a post-secondary institution. The results of the FAFSA are used in determining student grants, work study, and loan amounts.

The FAFSA will open on October 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year Some financial aid is limited to a set budget, so it becomes a first-come, first-served reward. It is important to file your FAFSA as early as possible.
